HOW YOU FEEL//ORANGE VISION

Ancillary Text

Below is the DVD cover for the music video I have made for Orange Vision's track 'How You Feel'. I have carried on the use of the anaglyph effect found on the website images used. Additionally, the orange logo is another feature I wanted to use multiple times for effect. Have a look and let me know what you think in the comments below!

Location

Filming for my music video was spontaneous and took place all over the country. Some of the main venues seen in the product are:

Sneaky Pete's- Edimburgh.

This great little venue in the heart of Edinburgh was one of my favourites. It was quite dark inside so I had to take this into consideration and where the light was coming from when filming.

The Cluny 2- Newcastle

One of the more 'established' venues of the tour and one of my favourite to film in, with a balcony that looks over the stage and raised seating.

Castle Hotel- Manchester

A very cool, dingey pub in Manchesters northern quarter which was a lot of fun to film in with a great, traditional pub backdrop for the band to play in.

The Cellar- Oxford

Good 'ol Cellar, always a good night. You know what youre gonna get. Good music, cheap drinks, and sticky floors.

Draft DVD Cover

Here is a first draft of my ancillary DVD cover. It was good place to start to figure out what works and what doesn't and where to go from there. I decided it would be a good idea to create a logo that I could use on different medias. In addition to a simpler background for more impact. I still really like this idea but thought as a developed ancillary text it wasn't thoughtful enough top go in keeping with the main product and the website.

King Krule//Easy Easy

I have recently fallen back in love with King Krule's 2013 track 'Easy Easy'. The video encapsulates  late summer evenings spent on the outskirts of London's Zone 2. The mixture of cleaner, more 'professional' shots and home video, shaky shots creates a raw kind of visuals that I was aiming for after evaluating my AS work. I decided that trying to create a professional product as an amateur was very difficult giving my budget, time, and resources. Therefore I concluded that creating a more 'home-grown' product that plays on spontaneity rather than carefully crafted shots was the way to go.
